Hot temperatures...three weeks in the triple digits...
Wild fires are taking their toll here in California.
A very rainy winter made the weeds and grasses explode.
This is our area's way of creating defense-able space.
Goats are brought in to get a juicy meal and we get the grasses mowed.
Here's the posted explanation for the wonderful goats.
It's so great to see the fields cleared and it helps everyone feel safer.

I'm so happy that we got some grapes this year.
We are always fighting with the birds over first choice.
I guess the weather cooperated too.
I know this looks like it's on it's side but that's the way I took the photo without thinking.
They still are tasty...even sideways.

This is ABC Wednesday and the letter is " Z ".
It definitely marks the end of an era for me.
10 years is a long time to faithfully post photos every week,
From A to ZED.
I am going to take a break and then we will see....
Today is Independence Day in the USA.
I am not going to get into politics but I do love my Land.....
Warts and all.
This may be the end of the ABC era but it is also the beginning....
Our younger son has finally found the Love of his Life.
Mark asked Kellie to marry him this past Friday.
We are so happy for them.
Don't they make a cute couple?
My heart is full.
And so it goes ... from A to Z

This YEAR I am having problems downloading my photos
from one device to another.
I may only have one photo to show for ABC Wednesday.
Today's letter is " Y ".
Well, I would say that this photo of the YUCCA tree looks YUCKY.
At least I got a photo posted but this is not my best work.

ABC Wednesday is coming closer to the end of season 20.
Today's letter is " X ".
All my words don't begin with "X " but some have that sound.
These fire hoses are used to eXtinguish fires in the San Francisco area.
Sadly this 4 year old child eXpired in 1876.
Now the Big Gun Mine buildings are eXtinct.
I really dislike history being torn down because of "progress"
" X " marks the spot at my favorite place to be.
I love this tractor XING sign in Carsland...Disney California Adventure.
Thanks for looking and leaving a comment.

WHERE does the time go?
WE are coming close to the end of ABC WEDNESDAY.
Today's letter is " W ", featuring the WORDS
I thought this WAS such a strange sign to find in the WOODS.
This is nature's WONDER at it's best.
How giant trees grow from something as small as a pinecone is amazing.
Our two WACKY sons doing crazy things together.
Long my She WAVE.
An historic WELLS Fargo WAGON WAS on display in Old Town, Sacramento.
Thanks for looking at my post and thanks to all the people that make ABC

The weeks seem to be flying by VERY quickly.
We are now at the Letter " V ".
That's what the letter is all about this time.
We loved having our son here for a short VISIT.
The time just goes by much too quickly.
The last time our son had his VACATION we VISITED this place.
The VINTAGE Monkey is a fascinating motorcycle shop, showcase and lounge.
Shasta, the owner of the eclectic place, created and made this 50 foot bar counter.
It's made of all calibers of ammunition and covered in resin.
Lots of hard work to make such a one of a kind piece.
Here's a VINTAGE looking rose.
Even faded and dried it has a certain charm.
A faded setting of VINTAGE Old Town Sacramento.
Thanks for looking.

We went to Forest Hill, CA. today, and visited the Protestant Cemetery.
The weather was absolutely perfect.
Here are some of the fascinating memorials we saw.
Rather spooky...don't you think?
It's been 8 years since we visited.
I still found this figure fascinating with her pleading gesture.
And what do you do as entertainment???

It's UNDENIABLY difficult to believe we are almost at the end of the alphabet.
Today's letter is " U ".
If I could choose and had an UNLIMITED bank account
I would love to be on vacation most of the time.
We were fortunate to experience two of them this last month.
We have been to Disneyland UMPTEEN times since it opened.
We are fans,
but this time wasn't completely a UTOPIA for us.
It was so hot and crowded
I was almost ready to call " UNCLE ".
Some people are rather UNCOUTH...what does it take to say thank you,
pardon me or please?
Being with family made all the difference .
Our granddaughter is so UPBEAT.
We had a ball with her.
Space Mountain for us in the front row was the ULTIMATE for thrills.
Our other granddaughter had the UNIQUE opportunity of giving two concerts
with her high school symphonic band at Disney's California Adventure venue.
Hubby and I had the ULTRA adventure of going on the Radiator Springs CARS ride.
Totally fun even though our car lost the race.
We had a very wonderful and UNIQUE vacation because of this man, Walt Disney...
It all started with a mouse.

I am combining TWO letters for ABC Wednesday.
SINCE I won't have my computer available for THE letter "T"
next week you will SEE both " S " and " T " here.
I have TITLED THIS SERIES
I find THAT celebrating Mother's Day with my SWEETHEART
is a huge TREASURE in my life.
THERE is nothing like having family over for a celebration.
My oldest Granddaughter is one of my TREASURES.
Little do-dads like THESE cute birdies really are my SIMPLE TREASURES.
Fragrant roses given TO me by SOME very SPECIAL friends
are definitely my SIMPLE TREASURES.
Enlarging each photo will SHOW you a lot more detail.

After taking a little " R & R " this past week
I'm READY to REMINISCE and REMEMBER times at Lake Tahoe.
This is all for ABC Wednesday Letter " R ".
REMEMBERING our drought in Northern California.
This is 2 years ago at Lake Tahoe, California.
All that beach area should be under water.
The same spot taken on Friday.
It sees the drought is officially over.
Last year we were able to RUN over all the ROCKS and granite boulders
exposed because the Lake was so low.
This year the scene is so different.
The tree is now on an island.
We even had a freak and RANDOM snow storm on Friday.
Thanks for looking and REMEMBER to leave a comment.
